Backgammon for Money

The Cannes WSOB Final Match between Koca and Frederick Andrieu started at 3:02am, with a big throng that was vigilant ( in spite of the late start) and transfixed by the pierce and the danger.

With Koca on FA’s 4 point and FA on Koca’s bar point, Fred ships in a spicy cube. Koca catches and he has to crunch. The man that is the first in front of his back diminishes to three, which emboldens Koca to careful step into the outfield. The result is that he is cruelly assailed. After a bad fan he is closed out and a massive minion to get gammoned. But FA is not able to pick up the second blot and a very late 66 from Koca saves both gammon and the match.

Then one more game of backgammon with 60,000 euros riding on it takes place. Koca and Fred contend to guard the golden anchor and both do it successively. Who will be the first to drop out? Koca will be. FA makes a wonderful hit of a 44 for the 5-point board with four-point slotted. Koca goes phut, FA lifts the blot.

Koca starts. FA has the opportunity to hit him but he leaves the blot there. He makes a decision to leave Koca alone because FA is managing the race. FA has two on his 5 point, two on his 6 point, and 3 on the bar. He rolls an astonishing 65 to leave Koca the match-winning 3-shot! Koca draws a deep breath – and plucks with a 51. It takes the form of agonizing race. Koca’s position is just a roll behind.

The big double for King Koca the Dane-Killer is not there becouse Frederick Andrieu is WSOB Champion 2008! He cries three times as an furious gorilla. He qualified for the final-table 16 in a live super-satellite, and has played with real fortitude and confidence all the day. Error rates for the final: 3.9 Andrieu, 3.8 Koca.
